What is there to say about this Country that you are considering to either buy a holiday home or to live?
Turkish delight, belly dancers, kebabs, the local drink (Raki) ?
No I think we all look for more out of life than these “delights”. Turkey can offer you a new and healthier way to live and enjoy.
Weather: 8 or 9 months of the weather we all dream about, spring and autumn here in Turkey are better than the UK’s summers, bright and clear skies everyday. Summer is hot !! Winter? We have never seen snow in Didim, very rarely a frost but when it rains it rains. The rainy season maybe lasts from 6 to 8 weeks, NO not everyday.
Food: The Turkish know how to cook. Lamb and chicken are their main meats. Salads and fruits are mainly all organic; the markets are a sight to see with all the varieties of produce. More and more large supermarkets have opened up with most branded items that you would obtain in the UK.
Council Tax: Tops about £100 per year (for a villa)
Motoring: On a par with the UK (Driving not as good)
Buses: No bus stops just hold your arm out
Health Care: Better than the UK (private or State available)
Water/Electricity: Cheaper than the UK
Car Insurance: Same as the UK but optional (Yes optional)
Social Life: Laid back
People: Friendly, nice and more than helpful.
